INFINICA offers a system that can be used in a modular manner for process-oriented composition and distribution of documents. INFINICA Document Designer is the central tool for preparing master documents (templates). PDF forms can also be prepared with this stand-alone application. The INFINICA Content Repository ensures management of document templates, resources and processes. This also includes access control and versioning.

Processes are performed by the INFINICA Process Engine. A likewise modular concept allows external systems, i.e. input channels such as SQL databases or SAP, to be accessed in it. These can be extended at any time via an API. Centralized output formats are PDFs and printing formats, such as AFP, PCL and PostScript. As output of the processes, these distribute the documents created to any combination desired of output channels, such as printers, FTPs, file systems, eMail, archives, etc. Access is possible to and from external systems, including HTTP, FTP, WebService, Java API and XML process definitions.
In INFINICA Workplace, end users perform ad-hoc workflows for going through typical business processes, such as contract preparation. The INFINICA Workplace Server is then accessed via a web browser, which means no separate, local installation is necessary.

In addition, INFINICA Administrator offers the possibility of checking processes with a monitoring component. It is not only used to start and stop processes as well as to prepare statistics and evaluations, but also for troubleshooting and improving performance and processes. In addition to monitoring, the scheduling component offers the possibility of automating the start of processes. A user management feature is for organizing and managing users, user groups as well as access rights. Alternatively, however, user management systems already in place (Active Directory, LDAP) can also be tied in.
