In INFINICA Workplace, end users perform typical business processes, such as contract preparation. The first step for the user in doing so is to enter input requested, such as by filling out a form. A preview of the output document is then displayed for any necessary checking. If any changes are made, they can be performed by clicking back to step 1. In a third step, the output channels desired (eMail, printer, etc.) are selected and added to if applicable. In the final step, a report is displayed, notifying the user that everything has been performed correctly or as to whether any possible errors have occurred.

The business processes can be prepared in a separate area in four simple steps. General information is first entered (e.g. name and description). Then the data inputs (e.g. PDF forms) are selected, and the appropriate resources assigned. In a third step, the documents are defined that are to be generated by the business process. To do so, document templates are accessed that have been saved in the INFINICA Content Repository. In the final step, a selection is made from a pool of separately definable and thus reusable output channels. After making any adaptations necessary, the documents are assigned to each output channel to which they are to be distributed.
