The concept "Document Composition"

Infinica Server

The Infinica Server contains the central repository of all templates and performs the execution of the document processes.

In many situations a document composition and the subsequent creation process can be as simple as getting data from a file, generating the document and sending it to the printer. More demanding business and also technical requirements nowadays ask for more flexibility than simply supporting such a standard process. A typical business scenario is for example a case in which the dynamic data need to be retrieved from a CRM or ERP system, get combined with the actual template, generated documents will be automatically sent by email, some other static documents should be appended and the dynamic documents should also be placed directly to the companies archive. Due to the ability of Infinica to define any such process graphically and have it executed on the Infinica Server you will never find any system restriction or business process which cannot be handled by the Infinica Server. The process component of the Infinica Server provides maximum flexibility in handling any complex document process – not only starting at the document design phase and stopping at the document generation phase but supporting your complete document related business process.

Another key functionality for any company’s professional operation and organization of all document types is a central document template repository. The repository allows you administrate your document templates centrally and to organize them into arbitrary folders which reflect your company’s organization structure. For example a legal or sales department is in control of their own document templates and their corresponding versions but is still able to provide complete templates or template parts to other departments.

It is important to have full control which users and/or groups do have permissions to access various templates. Infinica gives you the possibility to centrally manage permissions, create and modify group structures and to restrict access control. Legal text components should only be modifiable by the legal department but should be used by any department of your organization.

Since your company will make modifications within your document templates over time it is natural that the output of certain documents (e.g. account statements) will look different in the course of time. It may be that marketing messages, general text blocks or even your company address will change over time. In order to be able to reconstruct the output of a particular document at a given date it is necessary to provide a powerful date- and number-based version control system. Infinica Server provides you with a fully standards based repository which allows you to handle all those situations.
